Overview

Discover the essential accounting and financial management practices crucial for healthcare and healthcare related organisations. You'll learn how to apply accounting principles to measure and report financial positions, analyse financial reports for strategic decision-making, and explore financial management techniques under resource constraints for orgnsiations operating nationally or caross borders. By the end of the module, you'll be equipped with the skills to make informed financial decisions, enhancing your employability and contributing to the sustainability and diversity of the healthcare sector as a whole.

On successfully completing the module, students will be able to: 

Identify and critically reflect on advanced accounting principles and apply these to complex accounting issues in diverse health environments.
Analyse critically and interpret financial reports.
Apply an advanced knowledge and critical awareness of well-established concepts, principles, and theories that underly financial management decisions in a highly regulated environment.
Critically reflect using relevant knowledge and judgment in structuring and decision-making in the context of financial healthcare management.
