Overview

The Finance Project provides you with an opportunity to undertake a research project and enhance your data-driven decision-making and written communication skills under the guidance of a subject specialist. The research problem will be framed within relevant academic literature and subsequent research questions will enable you to collect and analyse primary and/or secondary data, to develop well thought out arguments along with supportable conclusions and recommendations. You will gain research and communication skills essential for any future Finance discipline expert.

Individual poster (1 file) worth 20%.
Research Project (6000 words) worth 80%.

Reassessment Method: 100% Written Assessment - Individual report (6,000 words)

Learning outcomes

On successfully completing the module, students will be able to: 

Apply advanced theories and techniques to solve complex financial problems.
Analyze and draw meaningful inferences from financial data of different types, even when data is incomplete.
Complete practical tasks of data gathering and analysis, and manage their workload independently.
Present and communicate empirical results clearly to advance their data-driven decision-making skills.
