Many large companies operate as groups and are required to prepare consolidated financial statements. In this module, you will develop a critical understanding of principles and practices that underlie the preparation and interpretation of their reports, whilst applying the international financial reporting standards. When preparing these reports, you will also consider ethical assessments of managers' stewardship and information needs of various stakeholders. By building upon your financial accounting knowledge, you will develop your technical and analytical skills when addressing complex accounting standards and current issues in financial reporting.

On successfully completing the module, students will be able to:
Apply selected IFRS framework to accurately prepare consolidated financial statements
Critically analyse and interpret financial statements, whilst acknowledging their limitations
Effectively and confidenty communicate accounting information and make meaningful recommendations to a variety of stakeholders
Critically discuss the factors that have an impact on accounting conventions with reference to current financial accounting issues.
