What are the innovations, technological advancements, and changes to global business operations that are shaping the future of international business? We will explore the origins, types, and outcomes of innovation in a global business context, including digital technologies like cloud computing, artificial intelligence and big data. You will gain a foundational understanding of innovative digital technologies and information systems, how they operate within organizations and society, and their transformational impact on product markets, services, business models, and customer interactions. It will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the global business landscape, enhancing your employability in a rapidly evolving digital and innovative business world.

On successfully completing the module, students will be able to:


1. Demonstrate a critical understanding of the key concepts, theories and issues related to innovation and technological advancement in a global business context.

2. Formulate and apply innovative solutions in a global business context to demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.

3. Critically analyse topics relevant to innovation in a global business context and adapt accordingly to rapidly evolving technological landscapes.

4. Critically evaluate the processes of designing and implementing innovative strategies within a global business framework.

5. Gather, critically evaluate and synthesise relevant business and innovation data and knowledge in order to inform decision making.
