We'll consider entrepreneurs, their characteristics and motivations, and the barriers and issues that they face when planning and establishing a new start-up venture. You'll learn what makes new ventures grow and succeed, and evaluate the practical decisions that entrepreneurs need to make in order to maximise the potential of business success.

On successfully completing the module, students will be able to:
1. Design an innovative business venture and apply critical areas of a business model to evaluate its potential viability and long-term sustainability.
2. Evaluate the barriers to start-up enterprise growth and success, and apply a range of strategic decision making techniques to maximise the viability of an innovative enterprise.
3. Analyze theories underlying the growth and development of enterprises and the stages of the entrepreneurial process.
4. Communicate business ideas and plans effectively to various stakeholders, including investors, customers, employees, and partners, using a variety of communication strategies.
