Overview

Finance is about managing risks while seeking returns. Investors and managers acquire an understanding of principles and concepts that underpin their financial decisions. In this module, you will gain the fundamental knowledge on principles and concepts of finance that drive investment and funding decisions. You will also explore the financial system and the operation of financial markets and institutions and develop skills to extract and analyse financial data for valuation of investment projects, so that you can begin to better understand financial devisions.

On successfully completing the module, students will be able to: 

Demonstrate knowledge of concepts and principles that underlie investment and financing decisions.
Develop skills in analysing the financial information from the financial markets.
Evaluate different approaches to investment appraisal and risk assessments.
Demonstrate an understanding of capital market efficiences in the context of real-world business decisions
