Tell us about your career path since graduation.

Upon graduating from Kent, my credentials provided a significant advantage, enabling me to secure a mentorship with my country’s Economic Development Board. Following this program, I joined Ernst and Young’s Financial Advisory division. After nearly five years, I transitioned to my current role as Product Lead in the Retail Banking division at the National Bank of Bahrain, the nation’s leading bank.

What does a typical work day look like for you?

A typical workday begins with reviewing the daily MIS reports to analyse new leads and applications, helping me prioritise tasks for the day. I then shift my focus to ongoing product development projects, collaborating closely with the Legal team to draft necessary documentation and with the Compliance department to ensure regulatory approvals are in place.

Can you share a professional highlight from your career so far?

Recently I was part of the team that helped launch the first of its kind Family Banking proposition in the country. The project that ran for over a year, involved all parts of development; conceptualising the product, regulatory approvals, creating a go-to-market plan, product launch and management.

How did your time at Kent help you achieve your current career?

The base of the business concepts and theories that I built during my learning process has helped me as I always felt that I had a front foot in my interviews, meetings and career. On the other hand, the soft skills that is part of the degree has also made me comfortable and confident in my day-to-day tasks, whether it was the excel and financial modelling skills, presentation and showcasing products.

One of my favourite memories is walking through our beautiful campus each morning on the way to lectures, taking in the stunning scenery. I loved spotting rabbits darting across my path and watching chipmunks scurrying up the trees.

Is there anything you would do differently if you could repeat your time at Kent?

No.
