Screen31 Medway is an exciting series of filmmaking workshops for young people aged 15–25, created to inspire creativity and build confidence in a fun, supportive environment. Participants get hands-on experience with the full filmmaking process, developing practical skills while bringing their ideas to life on screen.
The workshops offer access to professional camera equipment, industry-standard editing software, and expert mentoring. There’s plenty of room to play, experiment, and push creative boundaries — from 360° filmmaking and green screen effects to exploring new ways of presenting content, from traditional screens to VR.
Based in the University of Kent buildings at the Historic Dockyard Chatham, Screen31 takes place in a truly inspiring location. The Dockyard has been used as a backdrop for major TV and film productions including SAS: Rogue Heroes, Call the Midwife, and Enola Holmes 2 — making it the perfect setting for the next generation of filmmakers to start their journey.
This workshop is covered over two dates Saturday 7th March 2026 and Sunday 8th March 2026
