Building Security & CCTV

The Medway and Canterbury campuses are fitted with a number of CCTV video cameras, which are used to aid and assist Campus Security. CCTV cameras are linked to our monitored Campus Security control room, which is staffed 24/7.

Some buildings are secured using electromechanical locks and are fitted with card access control readers. This means building access can be sufficiently monitored and controlled.

In emergency situations or power failures, card access doors can be overridden by following the instructions outlined on the emergency door operating procedures page.

Building and room access door keys are kept in a secure key cabinet and are only issued to authorised personnel. See the key control page for details.
