Ingram - Lift Out Of Service

Tuesday 19th March - Tuesday 26th March, 2019

From Tuesday 19th March to Tuesday 26th March, Ingram Lift no. 6 will be out of service while emergency repairs are conducted.

Grimond Lift - Major repairs

Monday 4th March - Friday 26th April, 2019

From Monday 4th March - Friday 26th April 2019, the Grimond building lift will be out of service whilst urgent repairs are carried out.

Construction of New Science Hub Building

Monday 25th February - Wednesday 31st July, 2019

From Monday 25th February - 31 July 2019, construction will commence on the new Science Hub building adjacent to the Ingram Building. This builidng will be known as the Freedman Student Centre.

Some noise disruption is expected particularly during the first 4 weeks, whilst the installation of the pile foundations takes place.

During the construction period, approximately half of the parking bays (35 bays) in the Sports Centre road pink zone car park will also be closed until the work is completed at the end of July 2019.

Applicant Day Parking Information

Wednesday 13th February - Wednesday 3rd April, 2019

Please be aware that due to Applicant Days occurring weekly, every Wednesday from 13 February until 3 April (inclusive), a significant number of parking bays (100 - 225 based on requests for parking from bookings) will be reserved in Rutherford College and Tyler Court car parks.

Please note that locations are subject to change and regular updates will be provided in the Transport Team's newsletter.

In addition to this there are a number of smaller Applicant Days when up to 40 bays (based on the number requested) will normally be reserved in Giles Lane car park (the area behind Woolf College). The dates for these, and other useful transport related news and information can be found on the Transport website here.

Carry out repairs to foul water drainage system across Canterbury Campus

Monday 14th January - Thursday 2nd May, 2019

From Monday 14th January - Thursday 2nd May 2019 - The University has appointed CCR Property Services to carry out various repairs to its foul water drainage system on its Canterbury Campus.The works are non disruptive and no interruption to service is anticipated.

A tentative programme that we are working to is as follows:

Farthings Court - 14th January to 1st February 2019

Thorndon Court - 21st January to 8th February 2019

Marley Court - 28th January to 22nd February 2019

Homestall Court - 25th February to 1st March 2019

Grimshill Court - 4th March to 15th March 2019

Clowes Court - 18th March to 22nd March 2019

Tudor Court - 25th March to 29th March 2019

Willows Court - 1st April to 5th April 2019

Senate Building - 10th April to 16th April 2019

Lypeatt Court - 11th April to 11th April 2019

Ellenden Court - 8th April to 11th April 2019

Denstead Court - 15th April to 17th April 2019

Bishopden Court - 15th April to 2nd May 2019

Eliot Extension - 29th April to 1st May 2019

Closure of pathway leading to Parkwood footpath/cycleway from the Chipperfield Extension Building.

Monday 26th November - Tuesday 30th April, 2019

From Monday 26th November 2018, access to the Chipperfield Extension building will be via the Chipperfield car park only.

The existing footpath linking to the Parkwood footpath/cycleway will be closed to allow landscaping works to commence for the New School of Economics builidng. Works are likely to be completed in Spring 2019 and diversion signs will be put in place to assist.
