Former Staff Association
The Former Staff Association (FSA) was formed in 2008 to help former members of staff stay in touch with the University, and with each other. The FSA now has over 230 members in the UK and overseas, and all former members of staff are welcome to join, whether you are retiring in the near future, or whether you have already left the University and would like to reconnect with former colleagues. If you would like to be part of the Former Staff Association, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Members will receive regular email updates about events and activities, plus reminders about the monthly lunches and the annual Christmas party!
The FSA Liaison Group works with the University to ensure FSA members are represented and informed about relevant events. The group holds a meeting on the last Thursday of every month (except for August and December), followed by a lunch in Rutherford Dining Hall at 12.30pm. All members of the FSA are welcome to attend the lunch. The group also organises social events and academic activities, as well as an annual lecture and AGM.
FSA members receive KENT Magazine twice a year to help them stay in touch with the University. We can also help reconnect members with former colleagues with whom they have lost touch - just email email@example.com and we will do our best to help!
The 2016 FSA Summer Event and AGM were held in Keynes College on 23 June 2016 and photos of the event are available online. The 2014 FSA Summer Event and AGM, held in Darwin College on 19 June 2014, featured a presentation on the University’s plans for our 50th anniversary and an opportunity to meet the Kent staff involved, including the new University Archivist Ann MacDonald. It was also a chance for members to share their memories of the past 50 years.
