Estate Planning

The Estate Planning section of the Estates Department undertakes a number of functions in relation to space planning and property management.

Whilst its major task is to fulfill the University's space planning function, both at the strategic planning and implementation stages, it also covers a number of property-related responsibilities.

Please select a tab below to find more information about what we do. The Estate Planning Service Level Statement provides a comprehensive overview of the services offered.

Data & surveys

University room register

We record and manage data on school space usage for a variety of purposes including University planning, space charging and TRAC as well as external sector-wide resources.

Please use this form to notify us of any staff moves or room changes which have occurred.

Teaching space survey

Teaching space surveys are undertaken annually with the aim of establishing how effectively the University is utilising its lecture theatres and seminar rooms.

The aim of the survey is to examine each teaching room on campus at regular intervals for an entire week during the academic year to enable us to measure usage.

The surveys are conducted in collaboration with the Timetabling Office who are then able to examine the results in order to allocate future teaching space accordingly and identify methods for improving utilisation.
