What is RPI?

RPI (Retail Price Index) in the UK the RPI is a measure of inflation published monthly by the Office of National Statistics. It measures the change in the cost of a representative sample of retail goods and services and is widely used. The RPI for March will be used as the base measure for the following academic year's fees (for example, the change in RPI between March 2017 and March 2018 will be the index applied to the 2018/19 academic year tuition fees in order to determine the 2019/20 academic year tuition fees
