Environmental Policy and Management

The University of Kent adopted its first Environment Policy in 1996 and the latest version was approved by the Vice-Chancellor and Chair of Council in April 2012.

The Safety, Health and Environment Unit is responsible for the University Environment Policy. A copy can be downloaded from their web site.

Environmental training

To help achieve the aims of the EMS, an Environmental Awareness e-learning training module has been developed which should be completed by all staff. The course covers the following topics

  • Awareness of Environmental Issues and Sustainability
  • What the University is doing to manage its Environmental Impacts
  • The basics of our Environmental Management System
  • Environmental Management and good practice in the workplace

It should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete and contains a short quiz at the end to test your knowledge.

The quiz is hosted on the University's Moodle site and can be accessed by following the link below. You will need to log in using your normal Kent username and password
