Hugh Miall is Professor of International Relations at the University of Kent and Director of the Conflict Analysis Research Centre. His research and teaching cover theories of conflict and violence, conflict resolution, conflict prevention, peacemaking and peacebuilding, and the United Nations.

He has recently completed an FP7 project on Diasporas and Conflict and is Co-Investigator on the AHRC project on Religious NGOs at the UN. His recent publications include Emergent Conflict and Peaceful Change, and Contemporary Conflict Resolution (3rd edition).
