Centre for the Study of Group Processes
Grouplab meetings are for, and attended by, postgraduate research students (both Masters and PhD), research assistants, and post docs associated with the core academic staff members, and also other academic staff and postgraduates in social psychology and related areas. Researchers across the whole School of Psychology and other schools in the University also contribute and participate.
The purpose of the meetings is to explore new research ideas, plans, projects etc, and to hear from visiting speakers about prospective studies or learn about their current research related activities on topics related to group processes and intergroup relations. They are also an opportunity to meet informally as a group and with colleagues beyond direct supervisors/supervisees. Sessions generally involve a presentation from an internal or external speaker and workshop activities such as sharing expertise on the latest statistical or research methods, or preparatory presentations of conference papers or PhD viva material.
Meetings are held most Mondays through term times (aside from reading weeks) from 12:00-14:00 in KS16, and occasionally out of term time during the summer.
Core staff members: Professor Dominic Abrams, Professor Georgina Randsley De Moura, Dr Kristof Dhont, Dr Tim Hopthrow, Dr Hannah Swift, Dr Maddy Wyatt.
Additional staff regularly in attendance: Dr Lindsey Cameron and Dr Aleksandra Cichocka.
