CentreLGS Conference: Theorising Intersectionality
Saturday 21 - Sunday 22 May 2005
Keele University
The aim of the workshop on Intersectionality is to explore,
in different ways, the social juncture where relations
of gender or sexuality meet other social relations, including
ethnicity, faith, race, age, disability, and class. The
two day workshop will explore this intersection at a theoretical
level - asking how best to conceptualise and understand
this intersection. It will also explore the intersection
empirically - as it takes shape in various social settings
- and as it is understood by diverse social agencies and
institutional discourses - including, but not limited
to, law.
