European Union - Online bingo in the EU

Bingo has been successfully launched online in many countries. There are more than 400 online bingo sites available in the UK, bringing together nearly 5 million players. However, the laws on remote gambling vary considerably across the European Union's 28 member states. Hence policymakers and operators are debating the extent to which law should be harmonised. We explore this debate from the bingo perspective. We will conduct a systematic review of relevant legislation, case law, and guidance, and conduct interviews with key informants in the EU online bingo sector.
