Journal related issues
CAMBRIDGE JOURNALS online resource - if using Internet Explorer in 'Compatibility Mode', we recommend either turning 'Compatibility Mode' off or using an alternative browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox.
JOURNAL SEARCH - Titles listed as available via Westlaw International are not currently accessible from Journal Search. To access the journal please go to Westlaw UK click on Services at the top of the screen and select Westlaw International and search for the journal.
MOODLE ARCHIVE (http://moodle-archive.kent.ac.uk) is currently unavailable from off campus. Please use the VPN (http://www.kent.ac.uk/itservices/home/vpn/) service if you need to access the archive when not using an internet connection based on campus.
Saturday 13 September 2014 - Planned Maintenance
08.00-15.00 SDS (Student Data System) unavailable due to the annual Postgraduates and UG resitters rollover.
Sunday 14 September 2014 - Planned Maintenance
08.00-12.00 DARWIN POWER - There will be a total power shutdown by Estates on Sunday 14 September 2014 from 08.00 - 12.00 which will affect Darwin College, all Darwin houses and The Missing Link.
Monday 15 September 2014 - Planned Maintenance
09.00-13.00 BoB National (Box of Broadcasts) will be unavailable for an hour during this period due to a system software update to correct a recent bug in the system, where selected channels are not displaying the BBC Archive listings. It will also correct ITV to the London region.
Tuesday 16 September 2014 - Planned Maintenance
08.00-09.00 GROMIT (Registry File Share) will be completely unavailable for most of this period. Please make sure you make local copies of any files you'll need on this date before hand.
08.00-10.00 STUDENT DATA SYSTEM (SDS) will be unavailable for most of this period, but we hope that it will be back well before 10.00.
07.00-09.00 KRIMSON (Kent Research & Innovation Management System On-line) - possible interruptions due to maintenance.
06.00-08.00 MOODLE 2014/2013/2012/Training/External/Archive unavailable for about 1 minute due to maintenance.
08.30-10.00 IP telephone connections between Medway and Canterbury may be interrrupted at times due to maintenance.
Wednesday 17 September 2014 - Planned Maintenance
08.00-09.00 CONNECTMAIL access via OUTLOOK will be unavailable for a short period during this slot. Access to staff/research postgraduate email will still be available via Outlook Web App (http://owa.connect.kent.ac.uk/owa/)
08.00-10.00 PRINTING and PRINT CREDIT PUCRHCASE: PaperCut-controlled MFDs (swipe card) and printer credit purchases will be unavailable during most of this time. Printing should be mostly unaffected but at risk of interruption throughout.
08.30-09.30 NETWORK in Cornwallis Octagon and Rutherford will be interrupted for a few minutes due to electrical testing.

08.00-09.00 SHAREPOINT ( https://sharepoint.kent.ac.uk ) will be unavailable for periods due to maintenance.
Thursday 2 October 2014 - Planned Maintenance
05.00-09.00 MOODLE ARCHIVE will be slow or unavailable at times due to a data purge.
WEB OF SCIENCE & WEB OF KNOWLEDGE
Web of Science & Web of Knowledge both have a problem currently, that makes it crash in Internet Explorer when used on campus PCs. Student PCs on campus will be updated to Internet Explorer 11 (with compatilibility mode off) by the start of academic year 2014/15 which will fix the issue for those PCs. For PCs with older versions on Internet Explorer the following is a work-round:
Turning off compatibility mode in Internet Explorer (this may break other sites, but the risk is low) as follows fixes the issue, and we are working on a long term solution:
Tools > Compatibility view settings > untick the box that says "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" > apply changes
