08.00-08.30 MOODLE will be unavailable for about 5 minutes due to maintenance.

08.00-08.30 STUDENT DATA SYSTEM (SDS) unavailable for a few minutes due to maintenance.

08.00-10.00 WEB PUBLISHING (www-pub) will be unavailable to web authors due to maintenance.

08.00-09.00 NETWORK in CORNWALLIS may be very briefly interrupted due to maintenance.

08.00-10.00 KAR Training will be unavailable for the first hour and may be interrupted at times during the second.

08.00-08.30 KAR (Kent Academic Repository) will be unavailable for about 5 minutes due to maintenance.

08.00-10.00 Staff/PGR Email, SharePoint, Alumni service, Evasys, Lync, Footprints - please retry if you experience a brief interruption due to maintenance.

08.00-10.00 KENT NEWS ( will be unavailable for less than 5 minutes due to maintenance.

MOODLE ARCHIVE ( is currently unavailable from off campus. Please use the VPN ( service if you need to access the archive when not using an internet connection based on campus.


Web of Science & Web of Knowledge both have a problem currently, that makes it crash in Internet Explorer when used on campus PCs. Student PCs on campus will be updated to Internet Explorer 11 (with compatilibility mode off) by the start of academic year 2014/15 which will fix the issue for those PCs. For PCs with older versions on Internet Explorer the following is a work-round:

Turning off compatibility mode in Internet Explorer (this may break other sites, but the risk is low) as follows fixes the issue, and we are working on a long term solution:

Tools > Compatibility view settings > untick the box that says "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" > apply changes
