Encountering Human Rights: Visiting Scholarships

Sari Kouvo has been awarded visiting scholarships to the Centre for Law, Gender and Sexuality in connection with the conference.

Sari Kouvo LLM, LLD (international law) is currently working as the Rule of Law, Human Rights and Gender Adviser to the EU Special Representative for Afghanistan in Kabul (Afghanistan). In her work and research, Sari has focused on feminist legal theory, feminist and critical perspectives on international law, and on the different roles played by human rights in international law and politics.

We're also delighted that Tshepo Madlingozi and Jayoti Gupta have been visiting scholars at Kent Law School in connection with the conference.

Mr Madlingozi is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law University of Pretoria, South Africa. He is also an advocacy coordinator for Khulumani Support Group, a membership-based organization comprising of over 44, 000 members, which fight for the rights of people who suffered gross violations of human rights under Apartheid (see www.khulumani.net). He also sits on the boards of trustees for Siyafunda Care Centre (HIV/AIDS community-based organization based in Soshanguve) and the Zimbabwe Exiles Forum.
