Student Learning Advisory Service

Angela has developed and taught English as a foreign language and study skills courses at Further and Higher Education Institutions in the Soviet Union, China and Mozambique.

Angela joined the Student Learning Advisory Service at the UELT in June 2005 as an adviser. Originally from Germany, Angela completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies as a foreign student at British universities. Her academic background is firmly in Social Sciences (Anthropology, Geography, Environmental and Development Studies).

  • Providing study advice and guidance to individual students
  • Teaching workshops on different aspects of studying
  • Developing teaching and information material for bespoke sessions
  • Working on academic integrity and plagiarism prevention guidance for students
  • Organising events for international students
  • Co-ordinator of the VALUE Programme, a retention programme for first year students
