Mr Stephen Ganfield
Faculty Learning Technologist (Humanities)
Unit for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (UELT)
- 01227 827752
Stephen joined the University in May 2013, having worked at Christ Church in a similar role and is eager to work with colleagues in the development and usage of learning technologies to enhance the student experience.
Stephen’s journey to the University of Kent has taken many twists and turns. Having gained a qualification in magazine journalism, Stephen embarked on a career in publishing which has featured many varied roles from sub-editing Portsmouth City Council’s youth magazine and editing a professional wrestling magazine to working with academic staff at the University of Portsmouth to develop printed and online distance learning and training materials.
Coming from a publishing background, and with Universities looking to reduce printing costs and associated overheads to meet sustainability objectives, Stephen has a real interest in exploring how the delivery of text-based artefacts in the learning and teaching context is going far beyond the printed page.
Outside of work Stephen’s interests include football, rugby and chilling out to soul music if his young daughter lets him!back to top
