BE INSPIRED & CHALLENGED AT A SUMMER SCHOOL

Paris Summer School

Seeking such a unique introduction to Paris was fantastic and we were importantly encouraged to find our own Paris. It was amazing to learn about Paris through philosophers, writers, painters and scientists; importantly I learnt that Hemingway was right…Paris does stay with you and I can now see myself living here

~ Sara Kilian, European Summer School, Paris 2017

Entry requirements

The Summer Schools are primarily aimed at students currently studying at a University (Undergraduate or Postgraduate level), we appreciate however that there are many professionals who wish to broaden their knowledge of History and The Arts by undertaking a short course such as this, and they are welcome to apply.  Indeed the contributions made by professionals to the school are most welcome.

If you are a student you should have a current average with which you are likely to achieve as a minimum an Upper Second Class Honours degree from a recognised British University, or a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 under the American system from an accredited institution or equivalent.

If English is not your native language, then you must submit a satisfactory English test to show English competency, the most widely accepted of which are IELTS and TOEFL. In certain cases we understand that students may not have completed these tests but feel they have the necessary competence in the English language. Please attach proof of this to your application form or email summerschoolparis@kent.ac.uk if you have any queries.

  • For IELTS you should have achieved 6.5 IELTS (with a minimum of 6.0 in Reading and Writing and 5.5 in Speaking and Listening)
  • For TOEFL you should have achieved 90 TOEFL (internet-based) including 22 in Reading, 21 in Writing, 21 in Listening and 23 in Speaking
