About the project

The Student Success (EDI) Project holds numerous events to promote student equality. Events are held internally for students and staff, as well as for external candidates. Events include our Staff Symposium, Closing the Gap national conference with delegates from across the sector, ASPIRE: student conference, Inspirational Speakers Program for staff and students, and our Mini Seminar Series, one hour seminars held across the Canterbury and Medway campuses for staff and students.

The Student Success (EDI) Project Staff Symposiums

The Student Success Project have held two previous Staff Symposiums in 2015 and 2016 to provide information on the work across the phase I schools and research findings. Presentations, and research information from these events can be found on the Documents (staff only) tab. Delivery of the 2017 Symposium will be through subject specific semiars in the Spring ans Summer terms. Subjects are likely to include: Student Success systems development (appointment management, Progress Profiles, Virtual Student Adviser/MyDot, SStaRT), Phase 2 schools approaches (curriculum review and phase 2 targeted interventions), research updates and discussion around critical race theory, unconscious bias, BTEC report.
