Student Success

Promoting student equality, diversity and inclusivity

About the project

The Student Success (EDI) Project holds numerous events to promote student equality. Events are held internally for students and staff, as well as for external candidates. Events include our Staff Symposium, Closing the Gap national conference with delegates from across the sector, ASPIRE: student conference, Inspirational Speakers Program for staff and students, and our Mini Seminar Series, one hour seminars held across the Canterbury and Medway campuses for staff and students.

The Student Success (EDI) Project Staff Symposiums

The Student Success Project have held two previous Staff Symposiums in 2015 and 2016 to provide information on work across the phase I schools and research findings. Event presentations and research information ccan be found on the Documents (staff only) tab. If you are external to tthe University and would like more information, please contact Student Success Project.

Delivery of the 2017 Symposium focussed attention on a range of systems developed and implemented by the project to support students, including Appointment Manager, Progress Profiles, Virtual Student Adviser/MyDot, and SStaRT), in addition to a review of plans for future vresearch. Presentations and round table discussion highlighted approaches and targetted interventions being adopted by Phase 2 schools, both from a staff perspective but also, and more importantly via student case studies.

For further information about project events, or to discuss how we might support attainment in your school, please contact Jan Moriarty (Project Manager) at J.Moriarty@kent.ac.uk or 01227 816194.
