Student Immigration

All you need to know about VISAs and studying

BRP Collection Information

Important Information:

All students applying for a Tier 4 (General) visa from overseas will be issued with a 30 day visa vignette which allows travel to enter the UK. You must collect your BRP within ten days of arrival in the UK. Your BRP displays your full immigration status and entitlements whilst in the UK.

You may collect your BRP card from the University of Kent by using the University’s Alternative Collection Location code (ACL code) - provided below - when completing your visa application form. You may choose to collect your BRP from the Local Post Office Branch. Whichever option you choose, you must collect your BRP card within 10 days of arriving in the UK.

Once you have collected your BRP you must bring it in to the Registry student reception (Canterbury) or the Gillingham Building (Medway) for scanning. This is part of your Visa Responsibilities as a Tier 4 student. Failure to present your BRP may affect your registration as a student.

University of Kent ACL codes

The ACL code for the Canterbury Campus is 2HE362 / The ACL code for the Medway Campus is 2HE367

* We kindly ask that you do not use the University’s ACL code for any dependants. Dependants should use their UK post code when completing their visa application and their BRP can be collected from the specified Post Office branch.
