Research Ethics

During term time we aim to process a research ethics application within two weeks, however during vacation periods and busy times (e.g. exams and marking period) it can take up to four weeks.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that their application is submitted in good time.

Members of the Faculty of Sciences (staff or students) who plan to carry out any project (including funded and unfunded research, audit, evaluation, consultancy, enterprise and other projects) involving human participants or their data must complete an Ethics Review Checklist for Research with Human Participants prior to initiating their project.
Where a researcher has an existing project that requires amendment, then the original application should be resubmitted with tracked changes to show where it has been amended.
