Application to be Absent from Board of Examiners' Meeting

The Application to be Absent from Board of Examiners' Meeting process should be carried out by email.

The applicant sends an email request to the appropriate Chair of the Board of Examiners with the following information:

  1. Date of the Meeting;
  2. Reason for Absence;
  3. What measures have been taken to provide the Chair of the Board with any relevant comments on course(s)/teaching or on any tutees the applicant may have.

If the Chair of the Board of Examiners endorses the application, he/she forwards the email to the Dean of the Faculty (sciences-dean@kent.ac.uk) , for approval.  If approved by the Dean, the Chair of BoE confirms approval with the applicant and School Administration Manager.  If not approved, the Chair of BoE advises applicant of Dean’s decision.

When receiving an application to be absent, the Chair of BoE will need to make sure that there are still enough members of staff from each course attending the meeting.
