Your physical working environment
Safety, Health & the Environment Unit
The Safety, Health and Environment Unit is dedicated to assisting the University to undertake its activities in a manner that is safe, healthy and environmentally sustainable. It is a major contributor to the wellbeing of staff, students and guests of the University and to the creation of a positive working environment.
Estates
The Canterbury campus is built on 300 acres of parkland and is less than 20 minutes’ walk from Canterbury city centre. Residential, teaching and administrative buildings are surrounded by green open spaces, fields and woods making it an environment conducive to Health and Well-being.
A healthy workplace is clearly influenced by its location, the quality of buildings, interior decoration and cleanliness, personal and property security, as well as our personal and corporate approach to the environment The Estates Department have a number of teams across the University that work hard to make sure the physical environment is as good as we can make it for all staff.
Creative Campus
Building upon existing strengths and resources, Creative Campus seeks to support, coordinate and integrate best practice to mark out Kent as a highly creative place to work, study, play and visit. By forging unique partnerships between staff and students, Creative Campus has driven a number of bold and imaginative projects to support learning and teaching, improve the campus environment and promote the Arts.
