As a student at the School you will have unprecedented access to the world class equipment we have on campus and at our Medway Park physiology labs, and sports therapy and rehabilitation clinics.
In 2010, we opened a cutting edge sports therapy clinic, rehabilitation gymnasium and sports science laboratory in Medway Park. We have a hypoxic environmental chamber, a blood chemistry laboratory and separate seminar room.
The sports injury clinic boasts one of only a handful of Alter G Treadmills in the country, allowing us to provide a unique rehabilitation experience. The large sports therapy diagnostic and treatment facility is equipted for sports therapy, sports massage and injury prevention.
- Sports Ready Therapy Clinic, this Sports Therapy Clinic is run by Sports Therapy undergraduate students and supervised by qualified Sports Therapists and is open comerically to the public. These specialist rooms have been equipped with an Alter-G treadmill, a 3D video analysis system, 2D force pedals, ultra-sound imaging and a gait analysis system.The Alter G treadmill is a state of the art impact reducing training aid. It allows athletes to maintain fitness levels during periods of injury which would normally prevent training. By allowing athletes to continuing to work cardiovascularly without experiencing the significant impact forces associated with running, sport specific rehabilitation programs can begin weeks or even months earlier.
