Reopening information

The Sports Centre and The Pavilion are open!

We are delighted to welcome you back, with many activities available to book including the gym, classes, sports and the Physiotherapy Clinic. Before you arrive, please note the following:

  • You will need to book a session in advance before visiting
  • There are no locker or changing facilities available, please arrive ready to start your activity
  • You will not be able to hire sports equipment - please bring what you need 
  • Please bring your own bottled water for hydration
  • You will need to queue outside the Sports Centre and The Pavilion for ALL bookings
  • One drawstring bag with essential items is allowed per person (see measurements below)
  • A mask or face covering is required as you enter Kent Sport facilities and as you make your way through the one-way system to your activity. You do not need to wear a mask or face covering during your activity.

While we're excited to see you return, there is a 'new normal' in place. The information on this page and our FAQ blog item will make your visits to Kent Sport as safe as possible. Please familiarise yourself with this information prior to your visit.

The Cycle Hub and The Pavilion Café Bar are currently closed 

We will update this page with additional information, so please check back often.

Can I bring a bag with me?

We are allowing one small drawstring bag, measuring no more than 430mm x 330mm, to be brought with you to your activity. Essential items only:

  • Water bottle
  • Phone, keys and wallet/purse
  • Training diary/notebook
  • Training belt/gloves
  • Personal hygiene products

Five simple rules for a safe visit

By following our five rules below, your visit to Kent Sport will be as safe as possible. If you have any questions about our services and facilities, see our frequently asked questions blog post.

Book online

Make sure you pre-book any activity you wish to take part in. This can be done online through your membership portal for all members. If you have not booked in advance, you will not be allowed access to Kent Sport facilities.

Maintain social distance

We have implemented social distancing within our facilities, and we ask that you maintain a two metre distance from other users and staff at all times.

Follow directional flow

Our new one-way system and restrictions on facility access are designed to keep you safe. We ask you to follow these instructions and specific guidance from our staff at all times.

Clean equipment

Alongside increased cleaning of our facilities, including a daily full clean, we encourage all users to wipe down equipment before and after use with the antibacterial spray and blue cloths provided.

Please DO NOT visit Kent Sport if you are showing any symptoms of Covid-19 including temperature, cough, difficulty breathing, or loss of taste or smell (anosmia).

While we're delighted to welcome you back, due to the current pandemic we have had to reduce our equipment and services in order to allow access back to Kent Sport. Here's everything you can book:

Gym sessions

Cardio Suite (first floor). Please book as a 'cardio session' in the online booking portal.

Physiotherapy Clinic

The Kent Sport Physiotherapy Clinic is now open. You can book for physiotherapy and massages by emailing physio@kent.ac.uk

Outdoor sports

All outdoor sports including football, hockey, lacrosse, rugby and American football are now bookable. However, we are limiting bookings to six players per bookable pitch. There are three bookable pitches on the 3GX, and two on the 3G pitch. We also have bookable grass pitches. The Astro pitch is currently unavailable.
