Anna studied BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Barcelona. During the last year of her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences, she completed a one-year internship at Bangor University studying the effects of vitamin D on immune system and performance. After that, the opportunity came and she completed a Master's by Research (MRes) in Sport and Exercise Physiology at Bangor University while working alongside the Extreme Research Group. Anna loves sports in general, but especially rugby, trials riding, basketball and swimming.
Science and health-related research have been an interest of Anna's since a young age. She is interested in the neurobiological effects of physical exercise, as well as exercise immunology, among others. She has started a PhD that looks at the effects of exercise on functional capacity and circulating brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels in people with Parkinson’s Disease (PD).
