Join our world

Our sociology degrees give you the opportunity to examine the social institutions that govern us. Discover what you think should change and search for a way to achieve it.

At Kent, you are taught by inspirational teachers who imagine the world anew through critical sociological thought. They are committed to developing sociology both as a culture of enlightenment for the twenty-first century and as a body of learning that closely relates to social policy and human care.

As a sociology student at Kent, you interrogate complex social issues, explore theoretical positions and schools of thought within sociology, and develop research skills that will enable you to collect, manipulate and interpret data.

School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research
