Nils joined SMSAS in summer 2015 from the Berlin Mathematical School (BMS) where he was a Dirichlet Postdoctoral Fellow. The BMS is a joint graduate school of the three mathematics departments of the public research universities in Berlin which is funded by the German Initiative for Excellence. While there, Nils was a member of the Collaborative Research Centre 647 "Space-Time-Matter" and a member of the Geometric Analysis and Spectral Theory research group at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
After completing his PhD in the autumn of 2011, at the University of Göttingen, Nils worked in the Nonlinear Analysis and Calculus of Variations group at the Polytechnic University of Turin until September 2013. He was Junior Visiting Professor and had a postdoctoral fellowship of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
