Research award for 'progic' events

2 July 2014

Professor Jon Williamson and Dr Juergen Landes have won funding from the Mind Association, the Analysis Trust, the British Logic Colloquium and the British Society for the Philosophy of Science to run a spring school and conference on 'Combining Probability and Logic – Progic 2015'.

The events, hosted by the Centre for Reasoning, will be the seventh instalment in the progic series. The conference will be particularly interested in connections between formal epistemology and inductive logic, asking such questions as: can inductive logic shed light on epistemological questions to do with belief, judgement etc? Can epistemological considerations lead to a viable notion of inductive logic?
