School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research Alumni Scholarship

Three scholarships of £3,000 each are available as a contribution to tuition fees.

The School will award up to three £3,000 scholarships (as contribution to tuition fees) on a competitive basis.

To be eligible, candidates must have a First Class or a very good 2.1 (68%+) honours degree from the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research (graduating by this summer or already graduated), and starting full-time study on one of the follow degree programmes in September 2019:

  • MA Sociology
  • MA Criminology
  • MA International Social Policy
  • MA Methods of Social Research
  • MA Philanthropic Studies

This scholarship will be in addition to any Kent scholarships and discounts (such as the £1,000 Graduate School Scholarship, 10% Loyalty Discount and the School £500 discount for high performing students).

Criteria


First Class honours or a very good upper 2.1 (68%+) degree from the School of
Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research




Have graduated in summer 2019 or earlier



• Eligible programmes: MA Criminology; MA International Social Policy; MA Methods of Social Research; MA Philanthropic Studies; MA Sociology

• Full-time study to commence
in September 2019

How to apply

  1. Apply for a place on one of the above programmes and ensure your references and transcripts are submitted through the university's online system by the deadline of 16.00 on Friday 28 June 2019.
  2. Submit to the postgraduate office (K.Glezakou@kent.ac.uk) a 600 word proposal (excluding bibliograpy and footnotes) for a dissertation project you would like to pursue as part of your MA by the deadline of 16.00 on Friday 28 June 2019. The proposal should include the title, the aim of and rationale for the project, the methods to be employed, and should show awareness of the place of the proposal in the wider literature / academic debates.
