School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research Methods of Social Research Scholarship

£3,000

The School will award one £3,000 scholarship (as a contribution to tuition fees) on a competitive basis to a successful applicant commencing study on the MA Methods of Social Research in September 2019.

To be eligible, candidates must have a First Class honours degree from the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research (graduating this summer or already graduated), and to study full-time starting in September 2019.

This scholarship will be in addition to any Kent scholarships and discounts (such as the £1,000 Graduate School Scholarship, 10% Loyalty Discount and the School's £500 discount for high performing students).

Criteria

• First Class honours or a very good upper 2.1 (68%+) degree from the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research


• Have graduated in summer 2019 or earlier

• Eligible programme: MA Methods of Social Research, full-time

• Study to commence in September 2019

How to apply

  1. Apply for a place on the MA in Methods of Social Research programme; ensuring that your references and transcripts are submitted through the University's online system by the deadline of 16.00 on Friday 28 June 2019.
  2. Submit to the postgraduate office (K.Glezakou@kent.ac.uk) a 600 word proposal (excluding bibliography and footnotes) for a dissertation project you would like to pursue as part of your MA by the deadline of 16.00 on Friday 28 June 2019. The proposal should include the title, the aim of and rationale for the project, the methods to be employed, and should show awareness of the place of the proposal in the wider literature / academic debates.
