Vice Chancellor's Research Scholarships – 3 positions
For this year’s Vice Chancellor's Research Scholarships, we are inviting applications from candidates interested in undertaking research from a range of projects from across our research groups:
Applied Optics Group
Centre for Astrophysics and Planetary Science
Functional Material Groups
Forensic Imaging Group
We are looking for an excellent student with a good Honours degree (First or 2i) and, preferably, a Master’s degree at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding research potential.
The scholarship competition is open to all new postgraduate research applicants, applying for September 2019 entry. UK, EU and overseas fee paying students are invited to apply.
Current Kent PhD research students are not eligible for this scholarship

PhD uploading a copy of your research proposal together with the name of a prospective supervisor
The studentship will be administered under the Graduate Teaching Assistant Scheme with the expectation that some teaching will be undertaken.Further details of the scheme can be found at GTA Terms and Conditions
Please note that there are 3 positions available for the School of Physical Sciences – across applicants from all of the aforementioned list of projects. There will be an internal competition and the quality of the applicants will play a role in the final decision of the School.
