The Dental Scholarship

This scholarship fund is provided by Dental Care Professionals to widen access and participation in higher education. All UK and EU part-time postgraduate students are eligible to apply.

Scholarships may be awarded for PG Certificate, PG Diploma or MSc stages. Any applicant awarded a scholarship at PG Certificate or PG Diploma will be able to reapply for succeeding academic stages at the end of June each year.

Scholarships will be subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Criteria

  • Applicants must fulfil the normal entry requirements for the course and must be eligible to pay Home/EU tuition fees.
  • Applicants must be employed in an NHS environment. This may be a Primary Dental Care Practice, Salaried Services, Acute Trust etc. If the applicant is a Dental Technician, the employing organisation must be providing a service direct to the NHS, or an NHS practice. Dental Hygienists contracted to work within an NHS environment will also be eligible for a scholarship.
  • Priority will be given to applicants in the following order:
    1. qualified Dental Nurses
    2. qualified Dental Technicians
    3. other Dental Care Professionals.
  • Priority will be given to Dental Care Professionals working or living within the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery boundary.

Dental Development Scholarships

About

This scholarship fund is designed to support widening access and participation in higher education by dental care professionals. It provides a partial scholarship of £250 to £500 per annum to incoming and current students in Postgraduate Dental Care programmes at the University of Kent.

The maximum amount available to any scholar will be £500 per academic stage.

Scholarships may be awarded for PG Certificate, PG Diploma or MSc stages, and any applicant awarded a scholarship at PG Certificate or PG Diploma will be able to reapply for succeeding academic stages at the end of June each year. Scholarships will also be subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Criteria

  • Open to UK, EU and Overseas part-time students.
  • Applicants must fulfil the normal entry requirements for the course.
  • Applicants must hold an offer of a place or be an existing student in good standing for a full-time or flexible degree at the University of Kent for the following or current academic year in the Dental Care programme.
  • Applicants will be judged on the strength of their academic background and appropriate completion of the award application form.
  • Priority will be given to applicants in the following order:
    1. qualified dental nurses
    2. other dental care professionals
