Research Interests

My primary research interest focuses on animal-human relations and animal exploitation. Specifically, my research focuses on the conflicting attitudes and beliefs people hold about animals – protecting and loving pets on one hand, and contributing to animal exploitation by consuming meat on the other. I am investigating the role of different ideological variables, as well as examining the role of empathy and moral concern in relation to judgements about animals.

My broader research interests include speciesism, culturally specific animal exploitation, as well as memory.
