Research Scholarships to commence in September 2019

The School of Politics and International Relations offers a number of scholarships to students who wish to persue PhD level research commencing in September 2019. Students who have submitted a formal application by the relevant deadlines will automatically be considered for funding, there is no additional application process for research funding. Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must hold a good Honours degree (First or 2i) or a Master’s degree at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent.

The deadline for receipt of complete applications for PhD Scholarships is midnight (UK time) on Friday 11 January 2019 for CHASE PhD scholarships and Sunday 20 January 2019 for all other scholarships. All eligible candidates who have submitted an application by the deadline will be considered for a PhD Scholarship; however applicants seeking SeNSS funding are strongly advised to apply to the University by January 14.  Applicants for either CHASE or SeNSS awards, if accepted for PhD study, should begin working with their proposed supervisor as soon as possible to prepare applications for these training partnerships .​

All interviews for successfully shortlisted candidates will take place in February 2019. All PhD applicants should be free to attend an interview either in person, or via Skype, on one of these days.
