Researching the Rainbow Conference at the Canterbury campus

A conference at the University of Kent to mark LGBT History Month will showcase research related to LGBT+ people and issues, including literary and cinematic representations of homosexuality

The Researching the Rainbow Conference, which takes place at the University’s Canterbury campus on Thursday 15 February, will be opened by Kent Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Karen Cox.

Topics will include literary and cinematic representations of homosexuality, transsexuality in the mental health care and the legal systems, and the decolonisation of sexuality, from students and academics from a range of schools and disciplines, as well as external partners.

The conference, which runs from 15.00-19.00 in Grimond Lecture Theatre 1, is free and open to all, although people are asked to register in advance.

The conference forms part of a series of events being held in Canterbury and Medway and organised at Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University to mark LGBT History Month during February.
