Master chef Novelli cooks up a treat for delegates at University conference

Michelin-starred chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will be cooking up a treat for delegates with a keynote speech at a national conference of university catering heads at the University this week.

The founder of the world-renowned Novelli Academy cookery school, the chef will talk on ‘training and passion’ to an expected 250 delegates at the TUCO (The University Catering Organisation) conference, which runs from 25-28 July.

Organised by the University’s Hospitality department, the conference will also feature leading business forecaster Professor Richard Scase and best-selling business author and commentator Geoff Burch.

Kent Hospitality Catering Operations Manager Keith Williams said: ‘We’re very pleased to be welcoming delegates from all over the country to the University.

‘Higher education is changing fast as students increasingly see themselves as consumers and customers and the challenge for University caterers is to meet their needs within often tight budgets.

‘Here at Kent, we celebrate change and believe that investing in our facilities to offer choice. we’re committed to regenerate our catering outlets every five years and have set ourselves the challenge of avoiding duplication.’

Conference delegates will visit Canterbury Cathedral, Boughton Golf Club and Whitstable during the three-day event.
