Kent-Ghent links strengthened

Professor Dr Paul Van Cauwenberge (Rector of Ghent University) and Professor Julia Goodfellow signing the MoU

The Universities of Kent and Ghent signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in January 2010 during a visit by the Vice Chancellor to Ghent. Professor Julia Goodfellow was accompanied by Professor Alex Hughes, Pro-Vice Chancellor External; Professor Roger Vickerman, Dean of the University of Kent at Brussels and Penny Pratt, Head of European Office.

The two universities already share a number of common interests across a range of disciplines. The MoU will strengthen the institutional links and provide a framework within which to operate. Professor Alex Hughes said 'Building strategic partnerships with top universities is a key element of the University's Internationalisation Strategy. We look forward to even closer relations with colleagues at Ghent University over the coming months and beyond and will be working with them to enhance opportunities for staff and students.'
