Following an extensive consultation on its Concept Masterplan for the Canterbury campus with neighbours, partners and stakeholders, the University has published its report on the consultation process and feedback received.

The University is now working on a series of stages, each of which will include further consultation and opportunities for comment, which will lead to the publication of a complete Framework Masterplan.

In 2016, the University published a concept masterplan that contained ideas on how best to develop the Canterbury campus over the next 30-50 years.

The University is grateful to all those who took the time to participate in this process, which included presentations to a number of local organisations and groups as well as public exhibitions, a leaflet drop to residents and information online.

The report, known as the Consultation Statement, details how the consultation was conducted, summarises the points raised in the feedback and notes a number of ways consultation can be improved in the future.

It also sets out how the feedback in the Consultation Statement will be used to inform the next stages of the project and includes that feedback in full.

These stages will include more definite proposals based on in-depth transportation, environmental and other studies as well as the feedback received throughout.

The University is currently liaising with Canterbury City Council to agree the precise timeline for that process, but anticipates the work could take up to 18 months to conclude.
