NATO counter terrorism head gives John Burton Lecture

Dr Juliette Bird's talk entitled 'the Counter Terrorism Challenge: All Hands to the Pump' takes place in Canterbury on Thursday 3 March.

The School of Politics and International Relations, the Diplomacy@Kent Beacon Project and the Conflict Analysis Research Centre (CARC) welcomes Dr Juliette Bird, to the University’s Canterbury campus for the annual John Burton Lecture.

The lecture which is free and open to all takes place in Grimond Lecture Theatre 1 at 6.15pm, and is followed by a drinks reception.

Dr Bird has been Head of Counter Terrorism at NATO headquarters since September 2011.  In the course of a 20 year career in the UK foreign service, Dr Bird specialised in global threats including proliferation, financial crime and, most extensively, terrorism.
