Rehabilitation experts at the University's Sports Ready Clinic at Medway Park have been helping singer Olly Murs recover from knee surgery.

As part of his rehabilitation following surgery for a running injury Murs worked with staff and  students at the facility, which is part of the School of Sports and Exercise Sciences (SSES).

His rehabilitation included supervised work outs on an anti-gravity treadmill. Murs said:

‘After six months of sitting at home doing loads of rehab, getting on [the treadmill] was the most rewarding thing that I have done in a long time. I feel absolutely amazing.  If any of you are struggling with your ACL [anterior cruciate ligament] or any knee injuries, get involved [with using the facilities at the University of Kent].

‘It’s been the most amazing day. This machine is incredible and I will be coming back.’

The Sports Ready Clinic works with both amateur and professional sports people and athletes, as well as with the general public. It uses the latest rehabilitation technology and equipment, and is informed by the cutting-edge research conducted at SSES.

Anyone wishing to book an appointment or that has any questions about the Clinic’s services should call 01634 888137 or email sportinjury@kent.ac.uk.
