The University has offered its congratulations to Kent Union for placing 24th in the 2017 The Sunday Times 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations To Work For in the UK.

This is the eighth time Kent Union has featured in the list which is based on employee feedback in areas such as leadership, wellbeing, personal growth and how happy the workforce is.

Others in the 2017 list include The Royal College of Nursing, National Trust, UNICEF UK, National Housing Federation and Sevenoaks District Council.

Members of Kent Union were joined by the University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education Professor April McMahon for a celebratory event hosted by The Sunday Times in London on 22 February.

Professor McMahon said: ‘This is a tremendous achievement for Kent Union and one of which the whole University is proud. I am delighted for its highly dedicated and professional staff, many of whom are also our students, and all those who contribute to its many achievements both inside the University and with local communities.’

Founded in 1965 and based at the University’s Canterbury campus, Kent Union’s mission is to ensure students have a voice, fulfil their potential and support their academic interests. It is led by five elected Full-Time Officers and overseen by a Trustee Board. It has more than 500 staff with an average age of 26 and represents more than 20,000 students.
