Term 1

Percussion Group - Tom Atherton

Wednesdays - 17:00-18:00 - Galvanising Shop (4 sessions)

Led by world-class drummer and percussionist Tom Atherton, Percussion Ensemble provides an opportunity for performers of any level to engage in group settings. Tom has extensive experience as a touring and studio musician and leads multiple educational workshops across the `UK; he completed his PhD at Brunel University London in 2020, which addressed the combination of tuned percussion within a drum-kit set up.

Pop, Rock and Soul Choir - Kelly Fraser

Thursdays - 17:00-18:00 - Galvanising Shop (10 sessions)

The Pop, Rock & Soul Choir is led by choir director and vocal coach Kelly Fraser, who is currently working on this year’s X Factor. The choir works together to create vibey, innovative arrangements of existing Popular Music repertoire. The sessions are open to all and guaranteed to be up-lifting! This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the top names in the music business. Don’t miss out! ALL singers are strongly encouraged to attend.

Improvisation Ensemble - Sam Bailey

With a focus on creating sound from varied stimuli including art, graphic score, contemporary techniques and fragments of ideas, this ensemble provides a platform for improvisatory cross-genre creativity and exploration. Led by Sam Bailey; Sam is a pianist, improviser, composer, educator and promoter living in Canterbury, Kent. His expertise covers classical piano performance, jazz improvisation and free improvisation with a focus on collaborative performances ranging from chamber music and bands to work with dancers, poets, filmmakers, photographers and chefs.

Guitar Ensemble - Adam De La Cour

Guitar Ensemble is led by Adam de la Cour, a critically acclaimed electric guitarist, vocalist, composer and (on occasion) clown. Guitar ensemble provides the opportunity for guitarists to work together, en-masse, to create and perform diverse works (encompassing a range of styles, including rock, blues, funk, jazz, avant-garde, noise music and so forth)...be prepared...it might get loud in here!
