The Deep End (Student Hub)

The Student Hub opened in January 2017. It's a fantastic building with a long history - when the campus was a naval barracks, the Hub building was a swimming pool, which inspired our students to name the new restaurant and bar The Deep End. There's lots of different events held there, including quiz and comedy nights, to live music and nightclub events.

The fun doesn't stop when the sun sets as our purpose built nightclub has nights run by Student Republic and GK Unions. There's live music and comedy nights, as well as DJs and performances from big names. The Hub is best place to meet new people in your first few weeks, and cement those friendships all year round.

Off campus, you’ll find a thriving music scene and great pubs and clubs, which offer regular discounts to students. Favourite haunts include Bliss in Gillingham and, if you fancy heading a bit further afield, there are some great nights out to be had in Maidstone. Medway’s excellent location means you get to sample the best of Kent’s nightlife and, if you fancy a night out in London, the bright lights are less than an hour away by train.

Activities

Kent Union provides many student activities including sports societies, volunteering and student media. With a wide range of societies covering academic, cultural, performance, political, professional, religious and special interests, and sports societies ranging from athletics and dance to martial arts and waters ports; there is something for everyone.
