Students based on Canterbury campus can take part in a wide range of extracurricular music making on both the Canterbury and the Medway campuses. The University shuttle bus links the two, and allows you to easily access activities on both sites.

Concerts on campus

The award-winning Colyer- Fergusson Building at Canterbury is the venue for concerts and rehearsals and there are also opportunities each year to perform in the spectacular surroundings of Canterbury Cathedral.

If you sing or play an instrument you can join the Chorus, Symphony Orchestra, Concert and Big Bands, Chamber Choir and the many other bands and ensembles which are formed each year.

The Gulbenkian on the Canterbury campus hosts regular musical events.

The Medway campus is a venue for many types of music-making, including choirs, ensembles and bands, and there are regular band and open mic nights at the Coopers and Cargo venues.

Keynestock is an annual music festival held in the grounds of the University's Keynes college, where student acts can showcase their talent. A range of music performers battle it out to be crowned the winner and get a gig at the University's summer ball. The whole college takes on a festival vibe, with bars and a BBQ. You might even get to see the next rising star - Ellie Goulding performed at Keynestock when she was a student here.

You also have the opportunity to get involved in musical events and activities organised by the various student music societies on the Canterbury and Medway campuses.
